PAIN OVER PLEASURE

A man with a beard and a bandana on his head sleeping inside a washing machine or dryer, with the door open.

|| Destruction is key... ||

A person sitting on a skateboard wearing colorful patterned clothing and a red bracelet.
Overhead view of a white table with crumpled papers, handwritten notes on loose sheets of paper, a glass of amber-colored drink, a bottle of liquor, and a glass of water, with a dark background.
A hand with red paint or blood, palm facing up, spilling onto a white surface.

Pieces broken from a greater whole, for me has only left me weeping
Often I find it hard to let go, but who I was gives me the greatest (in)security
My revolution wasn’t televised...only shown in snippets and clips
Revealed by the moments I could finally admit
Death is an imposter disguised as my friend
Disguised by my lies
Disguised as my kin
Now I’m waiting and wishing for it ready to end
If I lose it all tonight, would that suggest
All this pleasure from my pain was just
All for the best

I’ll let you decide

A woman with long, wavy hair sits on a white wooden chair with her legs spread apart in a room with beige walls and wooden floor. She wears a red lace top, black pants, and black boots. One arm rests on the top of the chair, and she looks directly at the camera with a serious expression.
Black and white photo of a woman singing into a microphone on stage, with cosmic background
A person lying on a red rug on a bathroom floor, holding a bottle of liquor, with a glass nearby. The person is barefoot and wearing shorts and a bracelet, with a tape measure around their wrist. A toilet is visible to the right.
Album cover with handwritten style text that says 'Pain Over Pleasure.' The lower part shows a cluttered black surface with beer bottles, a mask, some papers, and various small objects. The background is cream-colored with a thin black border and a Parental Advisory warning in the lower right corner.

Dark, ambient, insightful and energetic define the sonic landscape of this intoxicating album.Opening the album with pure aggression and gusto, Mike performs a vice fueled anthem detailing a life high elation and even higher self esteem. As the album progresses, we see a more chaotic and introspective transition to self doubt and dependency. With sounds varying from auto tune filled crooning to high energy punk, the album takes a full (crash) at its end with a display of rapping skill riddled with self deprivation of any hope to live a life different than what he created. Live out this story with from start to finish, and see why one may ever choose Pain over pleasure.
